Vershaw is, first and foremost, a professional platform grounded in Executive Support, Administration, and Board Governance. But it’s also something more personal. This blog will be a blended journal, part professional insight, part lifestyle reflection because in real life, none of these things exist in neat little silos.
Here you’ll find articles on all things Executive Assistance, governance, organisation, and high-level support, alongside stories from years of travel, motherhood, family life, and more recently, rediscovering the joy of couples travel and lifestyle. Add in a love for great food, beautiful restaurants, cooking, the great ourtdoors and entertaining, and you have the full picture.
This blog is for those who like structure and spontaneity. Those who love a well-run board meeting just as much as a perfectly planned holiday.
After years working at senior executive and board level, I’ve learned that great support is invisible when it’s done well, but absolutely critical. Organisation, planning, anticipation, and calm execution sit at the heart of everything I do professionally.
At the same time, those same skills have shaped my personal life from raising children and managing busy family schedules, to planning unforgettable trips and hosting memorable dinners.
Vershaw is where these worlds meet.
Through this blog, I hope to:
Share practical insights into executive support and governance
Demystify the realities of high-level administration
Offer helpful tools, systems, and perspectives for busy professionals
Document my travel experiences and itineraries (past, present, and future...)
Share honest reflections on work, life, balance
Celebrate food, travel, and the joy of doing things well
I'm Alex, a 40‑something, full‑time working mum of two young adults, and a wife of over 20 years.
Outside of work, I’m the micro‑manager of the household, the organiser, planner, list‑maker, routine‑lover, and unofficial social secretary. If it needs coordinating, colour‑coding, or forward planning, it probably lives in my head (or one of many lists).
I’m also a lover of fine restaurants, home cooking, and entertaining, whether that’s discovering exceptional food while travelling or creating meaningful gatherings around a table at home.
Most of all, I’m hoping this space inspires others, whether that’s through professional guidance, relatable stories, or simply reassurance that it’s possible to juggle ambition, family, and joy.
This will be a blended blog, intentionally so. You can expect content across:
Executive Assistance insights
Board and governance fundamentals
Best‑practice administration
Tools, systems, and workflows
Real‑world lessons from the front line of executive support
Documenting travel across different life stages
Travelling with children and now young adults
Couples travel and rediscovering time together
Honest reflections on working motherhood
Favourite restaurants and dining experiences
Hosting, entertaining, and creating moments that matter
Some posts will be practical. Some reflective. Some purely for enjoyment. All will be written with intention and authenticity.
Vershaw is a professional platform, but this blog is human.
If you’re an executive, assistant, board member, working parent, traveller, planner, or someone who simply appreciates doing things thoughtfully and well, you’re in the right place.
Thank you for being here at the beginning.
